SEEDS... the wonder of life!

My neighbor brought me over half of her home-grown banana squash - what a gift!

The seeds were plentiful - I pulled out about 100 from the caverns of this squash.  

Check this out though - I have never seen a seed like this one before. 

The other side looks identical with a slender beige middle on each. 

My daughter Eden had baked pumpkin bread the other day & saved me the seeds, again about 100 seeds from just one very small organic pumpkin. I give them a quick rinse to get most of the flesh off of the seed - they seem to dry better this way.

Ruby Rose Comes to Town is my newest book. The poem you've just read is a little jingle I created for the Little Bloomsbury Art Show, which was based on promoting peace & hope in an uncertain world through a sound financial basis, including being thrifty. 




Recycling is not a major theme in the book Ruby Rose Comes to Town, but definitely a minor theme which can be pulled from the story. 

Since I am preparing to go live on Kickstarter.com to raise funds for the publication, I wanted to include this jingle. Through friends, these 7 beautiful and talented children agreed to help me with this part of the project. 

These children are absolutely a delight to be around and brilliant. Together with their moms, they created a skit to go along with the Ruby Rose poem.  

You will be able to view it as soon as we get the promotional video completed. I hope you will enjoy it. I certainly had a blast the evening of the filming - 2 dogs, 2 families & relatives, pizza & a party atmosphere added to the fun!

I have to be honest with you - it has been so much fun seeing where you are from. Currently I have readers in America, Russia, Germany & S Korea. So since my base of readers in Russia are seemingly growing as fast as my American readers - I thought it would be fun to add a note to my Russian readers.

Hi my dear Russian friends and readers.

Thank you for helping to expand my world. I hope you're doing well 5548 miles  or 8938 km from me. When you think of it that way, you're really not that far away at all, less than 2 trips across America.

Our different languages are so amazing - the sounds, the letters and I am sure even some of the meanings translate differently. I do believe we are universally connected and similar though as human beings. More on this subject later - time to zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz (work tomorrow).

By the way, I should have my website (story-express.com) updated with my new book info sometime next week - I'll let you know.
